Re: Programme & Line Up for 2009? « Result #1 on Apr 12, 2009, 5:39pm »
I'm sure it'll be a good festival and my feelings about the line-up have mellowed now that more acts have been announced.
But I think it's fair comment to say that while I'm sure the organisers have been busy working hard booking bands etc they made the classic mistake of not letting festival goers know what was happening. It wouldn't have taken a lot of effort just to post updates every week or two on the web site or on here to let people know what's been going on.

I think we are lucky to have a brampton festival at all. The way some of these remarks are written, it's presented as we all have a right to Brampton festival, and its like the organisers are at fault for organising it properly, whereas in fact the organisers have worked incredibly hard, moved heaven and earth and risked a whole shed load of money, to make sure it happens!
Also, many of the acts are sure to surprise and just because they are not the usual mainstream folk acts you might have expected or want to see, doesn't mean to say they will not be any good or entertain.
My only complaint, if that's what it is, is that some of them I have seen before! But that will not matter because I can always see the acts I've not seen.

Tickets finally on sale! « Result #3 on Apr 9, 2009, 5:15pm »
And King Creosote has been added to the line-up on the Saturday. The web site also now shows who is playing on which day.
Tickets for the Cumbrian roots festival recently saved by an eleventh hour Arts Council England grant, have gone on sale.
Early Bird tickets for Brampton Live 2009, which takes place at the William Howard Centre from July 17-19, are now available via the festival website at www.bramptonlive.net and from Carlisle’s Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery on 01228 618700, where tickets can also be bought in person.
Available until April 30, Early Bird offers significant savings on all tickets with full 3-day Friday-Sunday passes held at last year’s price of £65 if purchased online. You can also book for individual afternoon or evening sessions, single days and Saturday/Sunday passes. There are generous concessions for 12- 17 year olds and 5-11s whilst children under 5 go free.

i think tickets should have been up long before now. 99 days to go? most festivals i go to sell tickets from the day after they close the last one, ok so abit of slack can be given but most other festivals everywhere have tickets up long before brampton.

They need to get their act together coz people have less money to spend on festivals this year coz of the recession so brampton will get left behind.
I'm not going this year coz I'm going to another festival in August and there's gigs in Kendal like Eliza Carthy and Billy Bragg that i'd rather spend my cash on.

Some of these remarks are bit unfair you know; there are other artists not yet revealed who will be headlining. Plus, many of the revealed artists will be pretty good; Barbara Dixon could well surprise many. I think King Creosote will be appearing, if he gets the date right. should be great! Tickets and web links should appear soon; I don't expect to see tickets for sale until the final line up is announced, then the site will most likely be updated.

I've got to say this is a disappointing line-up compared to previous years. Last year we got Richard Thompson, this year it's Barbara thingyson.
I don't think we'll be going for the weekend, maybe just one day depending on who's on when. Would quite like to see the Peatbog Faeries and the Oysterband but I think we'll spend the money on other festivals\gigs instead.
Haha - it doesn't like D1ckson so puts thingyson instead. What a load of sh1t! Sums up Brampton for 2009. Fukcwits.
